A randomized, controlled, open-label clinical trial, conducted from November 2020 to August 2021 at two Jakarta, Indonesia referral hospitals, employed a 14-day mortality rate as its primary endpoint. A one-year prospective interventional study in surgical ward in-patients analyzed the suitability of antibiotic prescriptions. This involved the critical review of medical records, susceptibility test reports, and relevant medical information. When antibiotic prescriptions were deemed inappropriate, the clinical pharmacist elaborated and communicated fitting suggestions to the surgeon.
