Epoxidations were carried out using 30%(w/w) hydrogen peroxide at atmospheric pressure. The major product from the epoxidation of B30 was 1,2-epoxybutane-3-ol, with many potential applications.
RESULTS: The influence of temperature (20-60 degrees C), 1B3O/H(2)O(2) molar ratio (1 : 1-5 : 1), methanol concentration (5-90%(w/w)), TS-2 catalyst concentration (0.1-6.0%(w/w)) and reaction time (0.5-5.0 h) have been studied.
CONCLUSION: The epoxidation
process is most effective if conducted at a temperature of 20 degrees C, 1B3O/H(2)O(2) molar ratio 1 : 1, methanol concentration (used as the solvent) 80%(w/w), catalyst concentration RG-7388 inhibitor 5%(w/w) and reaction time 5 h. (c) 2009 Society of Chemical Industry”
“Background: When monitoring serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-HD), this website it may be important to
assess the significance of variations in the concentrations in the same individual. Data on biological variation is helpful in assessing and estimating critical differences to detect significant changes. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the biological variations of serum 25-HD and other biomarkers (ie, calcium, phosphorus, and parathormone [i-PTH]) in healthy subjects.
Methods: We analyzed blood samples from 11 apparently healthy laboratory workers (6 women and 5 men; mean [SD] age, 46 [5.1] years; range, 39-55); the samples were obtained once a week for 12 weeks. All samples were analyzed in a single run in duplicate. Serum 25-HD concentrations Nocodazole mouse were determined with the chemiluminescent analyzer LIAISON. For the same samples, we also determined the levels of parathormone (i-PTH), calcium (Ca), and phosphorus (P). The intraindividual (CVI) and interindividual (CVG) biological variation reference change value (RCV) and the index of individuality (II) were calculated.
Results: The mean [SD] values
were 24.3 [5.5] ng/mL (range, 15.6 to 35.2) for 25-HD, 25.9 [4.3] pg/mL (range, 14.8 to 36.3) for i-PTH, 9.3 [0.4] (range, 8.6 to 11.8) mg/dL for Ca, and 3.7 [0.4] mg/dL (range, 2.8 to 4.8) for P. The CVI for 25-HD, i-PTH, Ca, and P was 4.7%, 14.8%, 3.1%, and 10.1%, respectively. The CVG was 64.3% for 25-HD, 22.4% for PTH, 5.0% for Ca, and 26.2% for P. The RCV calculated for 25-HD, i-PTH, Ca, and P was 18.0%, 42.6%, 9.4%, and 29%, respectively.
Conclusions: Our study reports data on intraindividual and interindividual biological variability in determinations of 25-HD and other biomarkers of bone metabolism. The individuality index of 25-HD was close to 0.6, showing that the RCV of 25-HD can provide the health care professional a useful tool to assess the significance of variations in serial measurements.”
